The day before the Big Decision

Franklin Run Model Home, Heartland Homes Community, Pittsburgh, PA

It’s a chilly Saturday, few flurries outside, but the sun was out. D and I were ready to drive to Franklin Run for our 2 pm appointment. V stayed with my mother who was visiting us.

As we walked in the door – we realized we were a few minutes early. Our Sales Manager greeted us and we actually started right off. Confirming we were looking for homes at Providence Point and since we were trying to keep to our budget – started with the two homes we were interested in – Lexington and Augusta – both colonials.

Very quickly we realized that Lexington was much smaller though priced lower then the Augusta. We really loved the open floor layout of the Augusta. The best part was we fell in love with the 2nd floor Laundry option! The square footage was greater in the Augusta.

We went through the pricing scenarios – took fireplace, bay windows in the living room as some updates. I don’t know why we did – but we both did not consider the Morning Room option at all (it was priced quite high) – so we skipped over that option.

We were definitely excited. We spent close to 2 hours pricing both options. I am usually very circumspect about such huge financial decisions but we have been noodling this home purchase so much that I don’t know what came over me, I just started going with my instincts.

We went home – I don’t clearly remember what I felt on the drive home – but we decided to drive by Providence Point – this time with my mom and V.

It seemed perfect....the directions were in line with what D wanted... facing the N or NE. The community seemed perfect now. The location to my work, location to the bus stop to Downtown, and location to V's day care was perfect. So long story short... we really liked the place.
